Afraid of your insurance company? Afraid that your insurance premium will increase or that your insurance company will drop you completely?
Call us and let’s help you decide. Then bring your car to Dany’s Autobody!
Your insurance premiums are already high. You realize that your insurance company selects from only a few auto body shops for repairs. Those shops are where they want YOU to take your car for repairs. However, by law you have the absolute right to select a body shop of your choice NOT where your insurance company pushes you to go.
Why should you bring your car to Dany’s Autobody?
We’ll pay your deductible!
Our Commitment to You:
You are entitled to have your car restored to original factory condition, and NOT just a half assed job! We will fight on your behalf with the insurance company to make certain that your car is restored to factory specs.
Do you have the right to choose the body shop?
Yes, the vehicle owner has the right of choice. Remember, insurance companies cannot insist on a particular shop. Keep in mind you don’t need three estimates as any body shop can work with any insurance company, but be sure that the shop works for you and not the insurance company.
Bottom line: your vehicle, your choice!
Insurance ‘direct repair’ shops are beholden to tightfisted insurers. Auto insurers contract with providers to repair vehicles for a pre-negotiated rate (think of it as managed care for sick cars). And your car could be the victim of cost cutting. Some practices, such as requiring low hourly labor rates and making the shop pick up the rental car tab if a repair takes too long, could tempt shops to cut corners – by, say, using plastic filler in a dent rather than replacing the sheet metal part. Insurers prefer that shops use generic or salvage replacement parts because they’re cheaper.
Remember, we work for you NOT your insurance company. We’ll only do the work the right way not the way insurance company wants us to work.
What is a direct repair shop? A direct repair shop is an auto body shop which an insurance company has a pre-determined relationship where certain criteria are met. Provided the vehicle owner has no preference on where the vehicle is repaired, the insurance company may direct its client to a direct repair shop.
Your Rights:
- You have the right to go to the repair shop of your choice. Your insurance company cannot make you go to a particular shop of theirs.
- You do not have to use a repair shop suggested by the insurance company. These shops are referred to as ‘direct repair shops’ or ‘DRP shops’. If a repair shop works for an insurance company, they are saving money for the insurance company of the expense of repairing your car according to industry standards.
- You are NOT required by law to obtain more than one estimate.
- Some insurance companies may want you to visit their drive-in claim centers. You do so or you may leave your vehicle at the shop of your choice and ask the insurance company to inspect the car there.
- Differences in repair estimates are common. A lower estimate may not include all necessary work. If you are not sure why one Estimate is different from another, we will explain this to you.
- If an insurance company writes a lower estimate than the shop you choose, and offers to give you a check for their appraisal, you may accept their payment. This does not finalize the claim, even if the check is marked ‘final payment.’
- If you feel you have not been offered a fair settlement of an Insurance Claim, you have the right for arbitration. An independent appraiser may be called upon to resolve the insurance claim in question. This situation almost never arises as we are very experienced in dealing with insurance companies and get the required settlement amicably and without any hassles to you.
